Hi. More club activities were organised on Tuesday 26th July, some of our regulars chose to play practise games, but 13 players entered the 5 minute tournament which I ran. The contestants were the two junior brothers, Simon and Jacob, two of our other new juniors, again brothers; Lucas and Martin, plus Maric, Paul Williams, Carl Stephens, ( also new to our club ), Howard Jones, Bava, Wesley, and 3 Dave's in Mr Howlin, Filer and Ireland.
It was an all play all, and it was a closely run event. It was mainly between myself, Wesley and Bava, with only 2 points separating us, and in the end, just 1/2 a point between me and Wesley.
Paul was unlucky with some of his games, as he tended to lose alot of them on time, rather than on the board. All our juniors played pretty well, with Martin scoring best of these, and our newest player, Carl, looks like he'll do well in his first upcoming season in the Coventry league.
The top three scores; out of a possible 12, were :
Dave Ireland 11,
Wesley 10 1/2,
Bava 9 1/2.
